Communicate Keyboard Privacy Policy

Communicate Keyboard is an Android input method from DEJ Software. No account is required. The keyboard has no Internet or microphone permission, advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Typing and selected text

The keyboard accesses the active app’s text field to enter and edit text, show fixed offline word completions, echo letters or words, and speak text you select. A limited temporary session string supports spoken word feedback and is cleared when the input session ends. General typing and sent messages are not saved as keyboard history, used to learn Favorites, or sent to DEJ Software.

Favorites and settings

Favorites are saved only when you explicitly share text to Add to Favorites or Pin Favorite. Inserting a Favorite and sharing a matching phrase update its local usage ranking. Favorites, ranking and pin order, and settings are stored on your device. There is no sync, cloud backup, or Android device-transfer backup of the keyboard’s app data. Delete Favorites with the trash controls; clearing app storage or uninstalling removes all locally saved Favorites and settings. Local storage is not an encrypted vault.

Private fields

Password and other fields marked private disable speech, suggestions, and Favorites access. Passwords are not saved.

Speech

Speech uses your selected Android text-to-speech engine and a voice reported by that engine as not requiring a network connection. Text is passed to that engine for speech; it is a separate app whose privacy practices apply. Communicate Keyboard does not itself send speech text over the Internet. Choose and test a locally installed English voice in Help / About → Speech.

Clipboard and permissions

The keyboard does not read clipboard contents to collect phrases. Android’s standard input-method binding permission enables it to interact with active text fields. Enabling any keyboard displays Android’s standard warning about access to typed text. This app requests no Internet or microphone permission.

Optional support and external links

SEND TO SUPPORT opens an email draft for your review and manual sending. Generated diagnostics include device model, Android version, speech engine, voice count, selected voice, readiness, private-field status, and speech test status. They exclude typed text, selected text, and Favorites. Nothing is sent automatically.

If you send an email or submit a support ticket, DEJ Software receives the contact information and contents you provide to respond. Your email service and support portal apply their own privacy policies. Website, support, and optional Buy Me a Coffee links open a separate app only when activated. Those services may receive normal connection information, including your IP address. No payment details are collected by the keyboard.
