Import raw vCard text into Android Contacts

Gemini now integrates with Google Contacts, eliminating the need for vCard Bridge. This article is for people who already have raw vCard text to import.

A vCard begins with BEGIN:VCARD and ends with END:VCARD. For example:

BEGIN:VCARD

VERSION:3.0

FN:Example Person

TEL:+1-202-555-0123

END:VCARD

The text may have been produced from a photograph of a business card or letterhead using AI or OCR. vCard Bridge does not scan the image itself; it accepts the resulting contact text.

Copy the complete vCard, open vCard Bridge, and use its Import control. Alternatively, share the text to vCard Bridge from Android's Share menu. Android's contact importer handles contact creation and its final prompts. Direct Share includes a trial and may require the one-time unlock shown in the app.

If the wrong application opens or import fails, check that you copied the entire vCard and retained its line breaks. Compare the proposed contact with the original source before saving it. Do not post someone else's real contact details in a public support example.
