What is Pharos Data Ark?

Pharos Data Ark is an ongoing project for preserving practical reference material and making it available locally. A Data Ark can serve a knowledge collection from a Raspberry Pi through its own Wi-Fi to a phone, tablet, or laptop.

Pharos is the software for organizing, discovering, and serving that collection. Internet connectivity can help refresh and expand the collection; it is not intended to be a dependency for reading locally stored material.

Connect to the particular Ark's network and use the address supplied with that device or by its administrator. A private network address from someone else's Ark will not necessarily work on yours. The DEJ Software project page describes the project; it is not the local Ark itself.

The project is under development. For setup, collection, or access questions, open a support ticket and identify the device or installation you are using. Do not include Wi-Fi passwords or private network configuration in a public post.
