Change the message-area size and find Settings

Open the gear and look under Message area. Choose Compact, Standard, or Large. The setting changes the space available for composing a message; it does not erase the message.

You can also choose whether the dwell slider stays on the main page or appears in Settings. The gear remains available when the slider is hidden.

On suitable landscape layouts, operational and information controls move beside the keyboard, and the company logo appears beside the message area. This frees the former footer row for typing space. On other layouts, the controls remain in the footer.

Settings scrolls normally. Use the whitespace beside an option to scroll without activating its checkbox or label.
