Install the web app and use it offline

Communicate can run in a browser or, where supported, from a home-screen icon.

iPad or iPhone: open it in Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen, and confirm.

Android: open it in Chrome and use Install app or Add to Home screen from the browser menu. Menu wording varies by browser and device.

First open the app online. In Help / About → Speech, wait for Ready for offline use on this browser. Then choose a voice and test speech with the network disconnected.

Typing and saved local data work offline after setup. Speech also requires a voice that works offline on your device. Website and support links need an internet connection.

Keep using the same browser and hostname. Clearing its site data removes saved messages, Favorites, settings, and offline files. Installable home-screen access still uses browser-managed storage; it is not an automatic backup.
