Communicate Keyboard — Android
SPEAK, CLEAR, Return, and clipboard controls
SPEAK reads the selected text when there is a selection; otherwise it reads the current field's text. It does not send the message or edit the field. Some host apps expose limited text to keyboards; selecting the intended text may help in those apps.
CLEAR clears the selection without deleting its text. Backspace deletes selected text or text before the cursor, as supported by the host editor. Unlike the web app, the keyboard does not own a separate message buffer to empty.
Return inserts a new line where the host editor supports one. A separate SEND control appears when the host app offers that action. Sending does not create spoken History.
The symbols keyboard includes Cut, Copy, and Paste for the host field. Cut and Copy require a selection and are disabled in private fields. Android and the host app handle the clipboard action.
Speech, suggestions, and Favorites are unavailable in private fields. If SPEAK is disabled in an ordinary field, check that there is readable text and an available offline voice.
