Understand dwell, Tap mode, and key confirmation

Dwell gives you time to find a key before accepting it. Touch a key, slide to another if needed, then stay until its balloon fills. Releasing or leaving early cancels that choice. A green checkmark confirms that the key was accepted. Lift or leave an accepted key before choosing it again.

Set the delay to a comfortable pace. For ordinary press-and-release typing, move the dwell slider fully left to Tap mode. Moving off a key cancels the tap.

The gear has a protected activation hold of at least one second, including in Tap mode. This keeps Settings reachable without making it too easy to open accidentally.

Backspace starts with No repeat. Settings also offers Steady repeat and Gradual acceleration. Hold to repeat only when you have chosen a repeat mode; lift or leave to stop. Tap mode deletes once per tap. Cursor arrows also repeat when held.

Optional Vibrate confirms acceptance on supported devices. Lack of vibration may be a device or browser limitation rather than a failed key acceptance.
